Declutter Your Life and Reduce Your Stress – In the first segment of this workshop, we talk about how to downsize, organize and reassign our treasures. It is a fun (and funny) workshop that helps us recognize our clutter, gives us a little perspective and allows us some peace of mind.
Next comes, Organizing Your Financial Paperwork – In this segment, we look at our financial records, what to keep, how long to keep them, where to store them, how to get copies of missing ones, and how to prepare our paperwork in case someone else might need to see it someday. (Financial planners and CPAs often call me and tell me that they know who has been to this workshop – their paperwork is in great order, ready for them to start helping their clients immediately – saving YOU tons of money in consultation fees. J)
And to end, Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? – this segment deals with transferring non-titled property. Attorneys will tell you that the “stuff” is often the biggest issue in estate planning/settling. In this section, we talk about the “THE TALK” with family and friends and how to start this process. Many of my former class attendees have told me that they wished they’d come sooner because it would have made such a huge difference in settling their family’s estate and family conflict.
